Tristan P Barratt - Video

Video

I've always been interested in video...

Ever since I first saw a camcorder recording our nativity plays at Carnkie Primary school in 1983, I 've been fascinated by the fact that you can video and keep forever those little moments you'd really rather forget about.

So sticking to the theory that "less is more", this is it - with some fresh content, re-jigged structure and now - you can actually get in touch with me with the new contact form!

Have a look around, enjoy yourself and let me know what you think - and please be gentle.

"Long Gone Childhood Days..." (1989)

This was recently discovered on an old video I found hidden in the back of a cupboard.

Starts with darkness, then "Now You're Gone" by Black starts playing and a pair of feet wander out of Pool School's library into the bushes. After that, a loose spoof of "Film 1989" is preceded by some footage of me (in a wig) and some friends walking into our old English classroom and setting stuff up - all to the soundtrack of a sausage commercial.

Animotion - "Obsession " (1990)

Another of my early experimental videos.

There was a documentary on BBC2 one evening about the Gulf War that was just kicking off. I taped it and used the footage to create my own video to the 1985 song "Obsession" by Animotion.

"The Alchemist - Part 1" (1991)

Saxon Bullock, my friend who was also at Cornwall College with me, wrote and created a massive 1 hour no-budget science fiction spectacular called "The Alchemist".

This is Part 1 of 7

"The Alchemist - Part 2" (1991)
